Black Pearl LLC's managed IT and security services are led by John Leyhew, Owner and Head of Managed IT & Security Services, who serves as the company's security lead. John directs the firm's design, installation, and ongoing management of client network and physical-security infrastructure — UniFi/Ubiquiti networks, access control, and video surveillance — along with Black Pearl's defensive security practice: security assessments, vulnerability identification and validation, and remediation guidance for the systems the firm deploys and manages.
Under John's direction, Black Pearl delivers security as an ongoing managed service for Middle Tennessee businesses and nonprofits — hardening client networks, evaluating the software clients rely on, and keeping their systems monitored and maintained.
For nonprofits whose State of Tennessee grant contracts now require an annual NIST 800-53 audit or equivalent assurance, Black Pearl provides the readiness assessment, remediation, System Security Plan, and yearly compliance cycle, and coordinates the independent audit with a separate firm.
